The Walter-Hertweck family and the Krone team – your hosts

We are passionate and trained hoteliers. Real family people. The history of our family is inextricably linked to that of our hotel in Sindringen. We love the Hohenlohe region and its nature – we like good food and fine wines.

Angelika grew up in the Krone – founded by her grandparents in the post-war period, Ilsetraud and Peter Walter have made the inn what it is today. His father has been shaping the regional cuisine for decades and his mother Ilsetraud is the good soul of the house. Angelika got to know and love the hotel business and being a host from the bottom up. After her years of traveling in Germany and abroad, she returned to the Hohenlohe region. Today she manages the fortunes of our hotel together with her husband and with the support of the family.

We want to turn our guests’ wishes into wonderful experiences. Warm hospitality is our credo. To this end, we have recruited some very special people to our team. Open and courteous characters. Personalities with a heart who share our philosophy. Most of our valued employees have been with us for many years. And there is also room for a breath of fresh air and career starters at the Krone am Fluss. Look forward to your stay at our hotel in Sindringen. Who we are – and what we do …

Our hotel, the “Krone am Fluss”, is a refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our hotel is run by the third generation of the family. In this way, we are already connected to the region and part of the landscape of the Kocher Valley.

The Kocher river flowing past influences our house. A walk along the river provides a soothing counterbalance to our hectic times, while the cycle path along the riverbank delights young and old alike. Many products grow in the meadows and on the slopes of the Kocher Valley, which are processed in our kitchen and provide the basis for the region’s wines.

Our hotel is simple, clear and consistent. The focus is on the family atmosphere, coziness and good food.

Our employees are the most important part of our company. They are what make our company what it is.

As a member of “Schmeck den Süden Baden Württemberg” and the “Haus der Baden Württemberger Weine“, as well as “Mahlzeit Hohenlohe”, the kitchen and cellar are all about regionality. Through our collaboration with “Greensign/Infracert“, we are setting out to further strengthen our principles of sustainability.

For us, this includes not only ecological issues and the conservation of resources, but also future-oriented corporate management as well as economic and social responsibility.

Greensign is a transparent quality system for the evaluation, documentation and further development of sustainability performance in the hotel industry.

The certification with voluntary and mandatory criteria covers various areas of sustainable management.

For us, membership of Greensign is both recognition and an obligation to continue to develop in the area of sustainability.

Current improvement in the area of sustainability:

 

  • On behalf of DEHOGA Hohenlohe, we are leading the initiative to introduce a standardized reusable catering system for the entire Hohenlohe region (project start March 2021). Introduction of the reusable deposit system as early as the beginning of 2022.
  • We are switching our cosmetic products in the hotel sector to sustainable organic products (May 2021)
  • Gradual conversion to renewable energies, e.g. pellet heating in the guest house, PV system on the roof
