The Walter-Hertweck family and the Krone team – your hosts

We are passionate and trained hoteliers. Real family people. The history of our family is inextricably linked with that of our hotel in Sindringen. We love the Hohenlohe region and its nature – like good food and fine wines.

Angelika grew up in the Krone – founded by her grandparents in the post-war period, Ilsetraud and Peter Walter have made the inn what it is today. The father has shaped the regional cuisine for decades and the mother Ilsetraud acts as the good soul of the house. Angelika learned to know and love the hotel business and being a host from scratch. After her years of travel in Germany and abroad, she returned to the Hohenlohe region. Today, together with her husband and with the support of the family, she directs the fortunes of our hotel.

We want to transform the wishes of our guests into beautiful experiences. Warm hospitality is our credo. For this purpose we have taken very special people into our team. Open and courteous characters. Personalities with heart, who carry our philosophy with us. Most of our valued employees have been with us for many years. And there is also room for “fresh wind” and career starters at the Krone am Fluss. Look forward to your stay in our hotel in Sindringen. Who we are – and what we do …

Our hotel, the “Krone am Fluss”, is a refuge from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Our hotel business is family-run in the third generation. So we are already in the origin connected with the region and part of the landscape of the Kochertal.

The passing river Kocher influences our house. Thus, a walk along the river creates a soothing counterbalance to our hectic time, the bike path along the shore inspires young and old. On the meadows and on the slopes of the Kocher valley grow many products, which are processed in our kitchen and provide the basis for the wines of the region.

Our hotel is simple, clear and consistent. The emphasis is on the family atmosphere, coziness and good food.

The most important part of our house are our employees. They are the ones who make our house.

As a member of “Schmeck den Süden Baden Württemberg” and the “Haus der Baden Württemberger Weine” , as well as “Mahlzeit Hohenlohe”, our kitchen and cellar are all about regionality. Through our cooperation with “Greensign/Infracert” we are on the way to strengthen our principles of sustainability even more.

For us, this includes not only issues of ecology and resource conservation, but also future-oriented corporate management as well as economic and social responsibility.

Greensign is a transparent quality system for the evaluation, documentation and further development of sustainability performance in the hotel industry.

The certification with voluntary and mandatory criteria covers various areas for sustainable management.

For us, membership in Greensign is both recognition and an obligation to constantly develop further in the area of sustainability.

Current improvement in the area of sustainability:

  • On behalf of DEHOGA Hohenlohe, we are leading the initiative to introduce a uniform gastro reusable system for the entire Hohenlohe region (project starts in March 2021). Introduction of the reusable deposit system as early as the beginning of 2022.
  • We are converting our cosmetic products in the hotel area to sustainable BIO products (May 2021).
  • Successive conversion to renewable energies, e.g. pellet heating in the guest house, PV system on the roof.
